Hello members,

Welcome to the month of May (where is time going?) the month of which RMC started last year, can you believe it! Our 1 year RMC party is coming up so check out how to get get tickets below to help us with catering numbers. We've got all our other usual bits and pieces, a location change for afternoon run sessions and a farewell message to one of our bright and bubbly strength instructors (I'm not crying, you're crying!)


Farewell to Nichola Carr, We will miss you!

Today we unfortunately have to say farewell to our energetic, motivating and absolutely hilarious Nichola Carr. We were lucky enough to have Nichola on board since November 2022 where she played a pivotal role as a strength instructor. We appreciate all the time, and energy you have put into RMC and know that our members will miss you dearly. We wish you well on your journey into the "big smoke" of Hobart. We hope to see you back in the Valley for an RMC session every now and then!


RMC 1st Birthday Celebration is 2 weeks away!

RMC is ready to swap the gym attire for a party suit!!

When: Saturday 13th of May (5pm-late)

Where: Reba Sear Cafe

What: Waiora Farm catering, music entertainment and more

Cost: Free

Lachlan Fletcher, chef extraordinaire, will be catering the event. All food and drinks can be purchased on the night using cash or card.

We would love for as many of you to join us as possible so we can celebrate the year it's been. Members family, partners and friends are always welcome.

We need a confirmation of members attending at least 7 days out from the event. Please get your free tickets here to help us assist with catering numbers!

Thanks to all that came out for another glorious Autumn morning. So good to see so many new faces join us for this week's Social Saturday.

Upcoming Running Events

CITY TO CASINO - This is the 50th year of one of Hobarts most iconic fun runs the "City to Casino". With a new distance this year of 12km and also offering a 7km and 2.7km race, there is a distance for everyone this year at the city to casino. LAUNCESTON RUNNING FESTIVAL - This years Launceston Running Festival will be held on the June long weekend. This is another one of Tasmanians iconic running events that offers a flat and fast course over a range of distances including a kids 1.6km, 5km run or walk, 10km and half marathon. Tuesday 2nd of May (Progressive Intervals)

2 x 3 min efforts (90s R between)

3 x 2 min efforts (75s between)

4 x 60s efforts (60s R between)

16:00 run + 9:45 recovery = 25:45 total

Thursday 4th of May (Progressive Tempo)

5 min effort / 90s recovery

4 min effort / 90s recovery

3 min effort / 90s recovery

2 min effort / 90s recovery

1 min effort / 90s recovery

5 min effort / finish

20:00 running / 7:30 recovery = 27:30 total

Tuesday/Thursday mornings/afternoons (6:00am, 9:00am & 5:30pm): Huonville Recreational Oval.


Strength/Recovery and Cardio Session Details


  • Multi Movement exercises use different movement patterns to target the same muscle group.

  • It will challenge your body to adapt to different stimuli and keep it guessing.

  • This technique will also assist with increasing mobility, balance and function.

  • Tips from Hannah- use moderate resistance weight if your technique is perfect, complete 10-12 repetitions maximum and be very controlled. Always discuss with the trainer where you should feel the exercise.

  • Make the movement definite and controlled.


  • Please bring your own mat to recovery sessions.

  • Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session. We have new RMC sweat towels, don't hesitate to purchase one if you struggling to find one.

  • Always chat to our instructors if you want to learn more about resistance exercise and its benefits.

  • All sessions are designed and developed by Hannah, if you have any feedback, please pass it on.

  • If you have any new or old injuries that you are carrying, please don't hesitate to let our instructors know so we can tailor the program to you. It is so important for you to feel supported and cared for at your Run Move Connect sessions.

Booking/Membership Info

Class Cancellation

Please ensure you cancel your booked class at least 9 hours prior to the class starting as we have plenty of people on waiting lists, particularly the 6am. We understand that this isn't always possible but a last minute cancellation may also allow someone to jump in to class and have a great session.


If there is a specific time you were after then jump on the waitlist and you'll be sure to secure a spot. When you're on the waitlist and a spot becomes available, a notification will be sent to your phone via the Spaces app. If you don't yet have the spaces app, follow the link at the bottom of this newsletter.

Our advice is to get in early with your booking as certain times fill up quickly.

Little tip: If you're on the waitlist, set your alarm if you're intending to do the 6am session as there if often a spot due to late cancellation.

If you have any concerns with this, please don't hesitate to reach out.


Youth Engagement Program

With school/team sport starting up throughout the valley, is it a great opportunity to get your children involved in structured strength exercise to learn about their body, load management and for injury prevention.

Brad and Hannah are very passionate about getting the whole community moving and this includes our Huon Valley youth. Run Move Connect are proud to announce a Youth Engagement program which provides youths in our community a 6-week all-inclusive pass to RMC sessions. This program is tailored for 10-18 year olds who are interested in getting active within our community.

"This program will provide these young people with an opportunity to better understand the benefits of exercise and fitness training on their overall health and wellbeing. The project will be aimed at young people who are not currently engaged with a community group that promotes a healthy lifestyle and will promote the benefits of being part of such"

At the conclusion of this 6-week program a "youth membership" option is available. Priced at $15 a week, we hope to see our youth engagement graduates continue to run and get strong within our community.
