Hello Members,


Congratulation Jas for taking your first classes this week. We know how excited you are and your smile and energy is infectious.

You will see Jas taking Wednesday night classes at 6.30pm and 7.30pm

CONGRATULATIONS to Emma McPhee who completed the Tolosa quarter (10km) trail running event! Emma is a regular Social Saturday runner and we can't wait to see her participate in more events in the near future!


 

Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival




Welldone to Jordan Lovell (marathon), Hannah Squires (10km) and Brad Kitto (10km) for completing their respective races. Loved having Hannah's twin Tommy throw a RMC singlet on and run for the team, plus Brad's mate Joe!

What a lifetime achievement for

Jordan; your dedication and consistency with training has been fantastic! We might see him return to Run Group and Social Saturday now!!

Social Saturday


We loved seeing you all at our Social Saturday. Thank you to our Social Saturday leaders - Darcy Callaghan, Tommy Stevenson and Dylan Lovell for bringing the group together and leading the way. The way you are all going, Brad Kitto is losing his gig!

Running Event News

Ross Running Festival - RMC will be well represented with a number of our members making the trip to the midlands to participate in what will be a fantastic event. The Ross Running Festival will be held on Sunday the 24th of September offering a range of different distances available for all abilities! If you're keen to join us for a great run in this historic town the click HERE. A timetable of events is provided below.

  • 7:00 am Marathon

  • 8:00 am Half Marathon

  • 9:00 am 10km

  • 9:30 am 5km

  • 10:00am 2km (Children’s Challenge)


DOVER FUNRUN - Boasting one of the most scenic fun run routes, the Dover Fun Run takes runners along the foreshore of Port Esperance, with stunning views of the bay and the iconic Adamsons Peak. The Dover Fun Run (Tassal Ten and Annabelle’s Run) was born out of a long-standing desire to give back to the community, in thanks for the wonderful support for the Skinner family in their time of need. This running event is a fundraiser! All profits will go the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital. You can also donate to PICU during the registration or on the day. Online registrations close Friday, 3 November 2023 at 11 pm. Numbers are limited! Join team Run Move Connect by clicking HERE to register!

Running/Walking session details

See below for your session plans this week-

**6am - Don't forget head torches**

Check your booking system for location of run sessions.

Tuesday 15th of August (3 min reps + 45s)

4 x 3min efforts / 90 seconds recovery

4 x 45s efforts / 45s recovery

15 min running + 9 min recovery = 24 min total session

Thursday 17th of August (Tempo and Intervals)

2 sets of the following-

1 x 6 min effort / 90s recovery

3 x 60s efforts / 60s recovery

90s recovery between sets


18 min running + 9:30 min recovery = 27:30 total

FOCUS THIS WEEK IS STRENGTH

  • Heavy load with very basic movement patterns

  • If your technique and confidence is good then feel supported to lift heavier

  • This is a fantastic bench mark for you and to see how far you have come

  • Feel empowered to strive for improved strength

  • Develop self belief - YOU ARE STRONG AND POWERFUL




GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS

  • Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.

  • Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.

  • Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.
