27/03/2023 - Weekly newsletter for Run Move Connect members!

Hello to members new and old,

Thank you everyone for coming to our first "Run For Van" Social Saturday event. We have the most incredible community that are willing to support each other and give so generously to an amazing cause. We know that Jarrad and Claire feel the love and support of this uplifting Huon Valley community.

Congratulations to instructor, Bianca and husband, Tom on their marriage this weekend (Oh and Izzy). We hope you had the time of your lives and wish you all the happiness and love.

What an exciting week we have ahead with RMC members participating in the Hobart Marathon event on Sunday 2nd of April. See below for details if you would like to cheer on our RMC team.

Run/Walk For Van

Social Saturday Run/Walk- 25th of March & 1st of April

Run Move Connect will be holding a fundraiser in the lead up to the Hobart Marathon event at every Social Saturday event at Reba Sear café. We would love to get as many people along to either to walk, run or have a coffee and support such a great course . If you wish to donate, a tip jar will be available at Reba Sear for the whole week (Friday 24th March till Sunday 2nd of April. If cash isn't your thing you can scan the QR codes which takes you to the go fund me page, you can view this here.

Two year old Van is the son of Run Move Connect member, Jarrad and wife, Claire.

Van has a rare neurological disorder, called Angelman's, affecting 1 in 20,000. Children with Angelman's disorder require high level care and assistance to complete basic activities such as walking, swallowing and talking. Other symptoms include lacking sleep beyond 1-2hours, debilitating seizures, tooth decay and low muscle tone. Van currently can't crawl, walk or say any words and there has been a huge expense around dentistry due to enamel decay. Children with Angelman's require 24 hour care, seven days a week, together with ongoing health appointments, hospital visit and therapies, it means Jarrad and Claire have to significantly reduce their working hours. For Jarrad and Claire, this has been a very challenging and emotional journey to face but we don't want them to do it alone.

We, at Run Move Connect, want to support our community and we know that it takes a village to raise a family. We want to hold Jarrad and Claire and for them to know we care and we are listening.

A donation of any size will go towards dental surgery this year, an iPad to help him with his learning and future communication, to support living expenses due to time off work required to attend appointments and the cost of travel to appointments.

If you would like to support, please head to the Go Fund Me page- Help Little Van and his family HERE.

Membership Price Adjustment

Our aim at Run Move Connect is to maintain membership affordability and we are very proud to offer fantastic services to our members without having a big financial impact.

Due to an increase in overheads and additional classes being added to our timetable, we will be having a blanket $5 and $20 increase on weekly and monthly memberships respectively, excluding Youth memberships. 10-pack passes will be increased by $20 per purchase.

This membership price change will take effect and align with the updated Terms and Conditions on Monday the 3rd of April.

Please do not hesitate to contact, via email, if you have concerns around this.

Youth Engagement Program

With school/team sport starting up throughout the valley, is it a great opportunity to get your children involved in structured strength exercise to learn about their body, load management and for injury prevention.

Brad and Hannah are very passionate about getting the whole community moving and this includes our Huon Valley youth. Run Move Connect are proud to announce a Youth Engagement program which provides youths in our community a 6-week all-inclusive pass to RMC sessions. This program is tailored for 10-18 year olds who are interested in getting active within our community.

"This program will provide these young people with an opportunity to better understand the benefits of exercise and fitness training on their overall health and wellbeing. The project will be aimed at young people who are not currently engaged with a community group that promotes a healthy lifestyle and will promote the benefits of being part of such"

At the conclusion of this 6-week program a "youth membership" option is available. Priced at $15 a week, we hope to see our youth engagement graduates continue to run and get strong within our community.

If you know of any young member of our community that this may interest, please do not hesitate to email Brad or Hannah at

Please book via our booking portal
