Hello Members,

Thank you for a fantastic week and it is great to back with our community and sharing beautiful special memories. We feel the weather warming up and that only means one thing, spring is near!


Few little updates coming your way, so please read the below!


 

New Time Slots!


With the increase in popularity for our 6am sessions on Wednesday & Friday mornings, we are stoked to announce 2 sessions will now be available for our busy morning time slots! Pilates will now be offered at 6am on Wednesday and Friday, along side our strength sessions.

This is fantastic and we can't wait to see all the early birds get in for their morning movement.

 

Baby Latta joins our RMC Family


Congratulations to member, Tay Latta and partner, Matt on the safe arrival Alexander Jack (AJ) on the 18th of August. We are so thrilled for your beautiful little family and we can't wait to see you all very soon.




 

PCYC Huon Valley and RMC Join Forces


PCYC and RMC are joining forces together with support of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation to provide youth, between 14-20 years of age, a free 20 week all-access membership. This is a fantastic opportunity for youth that are finishing winter sport and looking for an activity to participate in through the summer period, an inactive adolescent who is wanting to engage within their community in a healthy and positive manner or simply a teenager who wants to exercise along side their parent or friend.

Exercise Physiology and Personal Training at RMC


We are very excited to announce that Hannah Squires (Exercise Physiologist) and Annie Cordwell (Personal Trainer) will be taking on individual sessions in the coming month of September.

More information on specific session details will be provided in the coming weeks but please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any burning questions.

Watch this space!


Brad Kitto is taking individual running coaching already for those who have specific running goals or targets. He is always up for a chat if you have questions on this form of individual training. Any marathon takers?

Social Saturday

What a turn out for all our walkers and runners for the monthly time trial . The Huon Valley turned on the weather and everyone could enjoy a much deserved coffee in the sun.

Running Event News


Ross Running Festival - RMC will be well represented with a number of our members making the trip to the midlands to participate in what will be a fantastic event. The Ross Running Festival will be held on Sunday the 24th of September offering a range of different distances available for all abilities! If you're keen to join us for a great run in this historic town the click HERE. A timetable of events is provided below.

  • 7:00 am Marathon

  • 8:00 am Half Marathon

  • 9:00 am 10km

  • 9:30 am 5km

  • 10:00am 2km (Children’s Challenge)

DOVER FUNRUN - Boasting one of the most scenic fun run routes, the Dover Fun Run takes runners along the foreshore of Port Esperance, with stunning views of the bay and the iconic Adamsons Peak. The Dover Fun Run (Tassal Ten and Annabelle’s Run) was born out of a long-standing desire to give back to the community, in thanks for the wonderful support for the Skinner family in their time of need. This running event is a fundraiser! All profits will go the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital. You can also donate to PICU during the registration or on the day. Online registrations close Friday, 3 November 2023 at 11 pm. Numbers are limited! Join team Run Move Connect by clicking HERE to register!

See below for your session plans this week-

**6am - Don't forget head torches**

Check your booking system for location of run sessions.

Tuesday 29th of August- (Progressive 2 min reps + 20s reps)

6 x (2 min effort / 60s recovery)

(extra 1 min recovery)

4 x (20s effort / 40s recovery)


13:20 running + 9:00 min recovery = 22:20 total


Thursday 31st of August (Steady / hard / recover fartlek)

4 sets of -

4 min effort / 45s effort / 2 min recovery


19 min running + 6 min recovery = 25 total

RMC Studio Details- Strength/Cardio/Recovery/ Mat Pilates


STRENGTH SESSIONS


FOCUS THIS WEEK IS OVERLOAD

  • Overload will be challenging the muscle with muscular endurance - Still focus on technique as you will fatigue in the muscle quite quickly

  • 12-15 repetitions should be performed

  • Moderate resistance recommended

  • Ask the trainer which muscle you will be working.


GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS

  • Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.

  • Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.

  • Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.
