Good afternoon RMCers,

What a fantastic couple weeks we have had with RMC. Congrats to everyone who turned up and participated in our time trial held at Social Saturday. Some great results and progressions made for a special morning! If you're keen to see your results you can view them HERE.

A big thanks to everyone who helped celebrate one of our longest standing and most dedicated members, Dylan Lovells Birthday on Friday! We feel very privileged and lucky to have Dylan part of our community and hope he enjoyed his special day!

A Message From Paige

To my beautiful RMC community, my fellow Pilates lovers, and of course, the incredible team (especially Han and Brad) — I wanted to take a moment to share some news with you all.

As many of you know, my background is in Nursing and Midwifery, and I am honoured to have been offered a position as a Practice Nurse at a specialist women’s clinic in Hobart. Women’s healthcare has always been a deep passion of mine, and this new role will allow me to grow and evolve as a specialised nurse, providing care and support to women in our community. It’s a space I’ve long dreamed of working in, and I feel so grateful to step into it now.

While I’ll be very sad to say goodbye (for a little while), this isn’t a forever farewell. I’ll still be hovering around, and you might just see me pop up from time to time to share a little Pilates love.

These past two years teaching at RMC have been nothing short of beautiful — filled with memories, inspiration, connection, and above all, love. Thank you for letting me be part of your journeys, and for being such an uplifting, supportive, and vibrant community. I will always cherish these years, and each and every one of you, deeply.

I’d love you to join me on the mat for my final week of scheduled classes. Come and join me for a spicy flow and a whole lotta love ❤️

With love and gratitude,

Paige 🤍

Week starting: 24.08.2025

Strength Class Focus: Functional

We love when you can translate what you learn in the gym to things you do in every day. One our senior members mentioned using the hinging pattern to lift wood and lift a wheelbarrow. We love when getting strong and stable helps you do the things you love and need to achieve without getting injured or feeling incapable. This is so powerful in so many aspects of life.

Functional strength exercises are movements that mimic everyday activities and improve your body’s ability to perform daily tasks efficiently and safely.

They engage multiple muscle groups and joints, working in coordination to build strength, stability, and flexibility.

These exercises provide a wide range of benefits such as improving coordination, injury prevention, muscular endurance and enhancing posture.

Week starting: 1st of September

Strength Class Focus: Strength

Did someone say strength week and simple exercises?

Yes we did!!

Simple and effective exercises to develop your understanding of your strength and technique execution. We are learning about our bodies so much in our classes - imabalances, difficult movement patterns and how to simply recorrect to perform the movement effectively. Feel confident this week in increasing your weights or using the time to perfect your technique.

Some movements patterns may be simple for you while other pose challenges. Lean on our instructors to give you that guidance and confidence to build your physical capacity and confidence to move.

We encourage 6-8 repetitions with increase in weight, if you choose to test what your strength.

Bruny Island Ultra Relay Info:

One of our favourite running events in Tasmania might feel a while away, but it’s time to start planning!

The Bruny Island Ultra is a unique and scenic relay-style event, where teams complete the length of Bruny Island from North to South. The course is broken into 2km legs, allowing runners to tag in and out throughout the journey.

Here’s how to get started:

Step 1 – Build your team! Teams can be made up of 2 to 10 runners. (Note: If you're aiming for the top prize, teams are capped at 6 runners to qualify.)

Step 2 – Book accommodation ASAP! Whether you're staying the night before to get an early start, or hanging around after to enjoy the celebrations, book now! There is already limited accommodation and the remainder will fill up fast.

Step 3 – Enter your team! Entries open September 1st, and this event sells out quickly, so mark your calendars!
