Good Afternoon RMC'ers,

Hannah is away this fortnight (July 1st to July 11th), sunning it up on the Sunshine Coast. Please contact Brad during this period on email hello@runmoveconnect.com.au for any RMC related enquires.

School Holidays at RMC!

(A message from Dylan Lovell!)

We love our school holidays at RMC, what better way to role model a healthy lifestyle to our little ones than showing them the importance of exercise and how it can be done in a positive and fun way!

Just a couple reminders below about our little ones at RMC sessions for everyone to keep in mind.

  • Dylan Lovell has kindly offered once again, to keep an eye on any kids wishing to play down stairs during 9am Strength sessions. Playing games of all sorts down on the courts so our parents can exercise distraction free, how good! Thanks again Dylan Lovell!

  • For our younger kids in the RMC studio - if all parents could please remember to keep your little ones either in the kids play area or close by your side during sessions to ensure their own safety + the safety of everyone exercising in the space.

  • During session demonstrations please be mindful and try our best to manage any loud, distracting noises so all participants in the class can hear and understand all exercises before starting our session.

RMC will always encourage and welcome our family’s to come along and exercise together. With your help and understanding, it will continue to create the inclusive space we all know and love ❤️

 

Strength Classes- Monday 8th of July

5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm will be taken by Paige. Lucky for you all, Paige will provide extra spice to our freestyle week in the strength room.

 

Access to PCYC After Hours-

Our code for the PCYC front door will be sent out directly to all members who are booked in for each session. Please have your phone handy when attending sessions so you can access the building.

Social Saturday

A solid turnout for a 8am start in -2 degrees! The crew didn't take long to warm up after climbing knights road!


Thinking about attending Social Saturday?

Our Social Saturday morning are for walkers, runners, furry friends and whoever wants to kick start their weekend with movement, coffee and great company.


We begin our loop from Reba Sear at 8am every Saturday. Choose a 5km loop or simply have a nice trot around Huonville. Return back to Reba Sear for a hot drink, something to eat or head off to start your weekend.

RMC Runners Facebook Group

An RMC Runners Facebook group has been made to help connect runners of RMC through social runs outside of organised RMC sessions, post any details in regards to upcoming events, Sunday long run loops, etc. If you or someone you might know wants to join this group, just search "RMC Runners" on Facebook and request to join the group.

 

Bruny Island Ultra

One of our favourite Running events in Tasmania seems a long way away but planning the logistics of the event should be starting now! The Bruny Island Ultra is an event that can be completed as a team "relay" style where 2km checkpoints are set out on course to swap to your next runner and complete the island from North to South!


Step 1 - Make a team! Teams can be any size from 2 runners up to 10 (if you want to qualify for the top prize, a maximum of 6 runners is allowed).

Step 2 - Book accommodation ASAP! If you are looking at staying the night before the event to get an early start, or don't want to rush off and enjoy to post race celebrations, look at securing some accommodation now (because it will all sell out shortly).

Step 3 - Enter your team! Entries open on The 1st of September and you can guarantee, this event will sell out fast!

15 min run + 11:15 recovery = 26:15 total

Thursday 11/07 (Steady/Harder fartlek)

4 min steady / 90s recovery / 2 mins harder / 90s recovery


18:00 run + 9 min recovery = 27:00 total

Pilates Session Details


INTERNAL & EXTERNAL ROTATION


Flows this week will feature exercises including internal and external rotation movement patterns which contribute to the strong and healthy functioning of hips and shoulder joints. Exercises will work to strengthen the smaller muscle groups surrounding the joints to increase range of movement and reduce risk of injury whilst re-aligning posture.

Pilates PULSE

Low to moderate intensity intervals based on time goals. Pilates exercises include the use of body weight and small equipment (bands, ball and weights). Available to all abilities and bodies. Class focus is to build endurance, strength and cardiovascular fitness. Great for those wanting a sweaty cardio session.


Pilates FORM

Slower paced functional class. Exercise layers are reduced to focus on precision, form and breath. A great foundational class to receive increased support and hands on correction. Excises always commence at most regressed level with the intention to realign posture and support every day activity.

A great class for clients new to Pilates, those with existing health challenges or returning to exercise, pregnancy as well as those wanting to strengthen foundational movements.


Pilates FLOW

This class includes a mix of modern and traditional Pilates exercises with progressions offered to those seeking further challenge.

Session includes release/stretch work throughout as well as periods of increased effort to create a balanced total body session.

 

RMC Studio Details- Strength


Strength Focus- Freestyle

  • We introduce some oldies but goodies, newbies but beauties (doesn't quite rhyme) but basically throwing a bit of magic behind the exercises and having a good old time.

  • Feel free to throw your own touch on the session by giving us music options.

GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS

  • Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.

  • Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.

  • Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.


 

Run Move Connect Youth Engagement and Mentorship/

Movement Through Parenthood Program


Run Move Connect is a community built on caring for each other, moving together and providing a safe and inclusive space for people to meet. It isn't always about movement, rather deep connections and sense of belonging that our members experience.

We are very excited, with the incredible support of the Community Bank Huon Valley and Community Against Poverty Assoc Inc to provide the following programs to our community:


Youth Engagement Mentorship Program (12-18 years old)


  • 20 participants

  • 6 months all inclusive participation to Run Move Connect classes

  • Individualised mentorship (from a member within the Huon Valley community) to provide support, navigate challenges and develop skills based on goals.

  • 12 weeks of individualised exercise programming with Hannah and Paige in a small group setting, once per week

  • Complimentary Exercise Physiology initial consultation with Exercise Physiologist, Hannah

With detailed online programming 7 days a week, specific pace/intensity guides and 24/7 coach communication, Brad uses his 12 + years of competitive running experience to help you improve and enjoy your running!
