We are very excited to welcome our Youth Engagement participants to our RMC sessions over the coming weeks. Give them a warm and supportive welcome; we all know that it can be a little overwhelming starting your class for the first time (for a short time anyway). These is nothing quite like an RMC community embrace!

Waiora Farm Food Thai Banquet!

Looking for something to do this Friday night? There are a handful of tickets left for a casual sit down 4 course set menu dinner held at Reba Sear. Hosted by Waiora Farm Food (Lachie Fletcher), the Thai inspired night will have more spice in it than one of RMC's spicey Pilates classes! Beveridge's will be available for purchase on the night.
When - Friday the 26th of July for a 6pm start.

Our code for the PCYC front door will be sent out directly to all members who are booked in for each session. Please have your phone handy when attending sessions so you can access the building.

Social Saturday
It was cold but the Huon Valley beauty was showcased again this weekend through the thick of winter fog. Rug yourself and come out for some movement to start your weekend.
Remember- it’s only cold when you’re standing still!

Our Social Saturday morning are for walkers, runners, furry friends and whoever wants to kick start their weekend with movement, coffee and great company.
We begin our loop from Reba Sear at 8am every Saturday. Choose a 5km loop or simply have a nice trot around Huonville. Return back to Reba Sear for a hot drink, something to eat or head off to start your weekend.

RMC Runners Facebook Group
An RMC Runners Facebook group has been made to help connect runners of RMC through social runs outside of organised RMC sessions, post any details in regards to upcoming events, Sunday long run loops, etc. If you or someone you might know wants to join this group, just search "RMC Runners" on Facebook and request to join the group.
Bruny Island Ultra
One of our favourite Running events in Tasmania seems a long way away but planning the logistics of the event should be starting now! The Bruny Island Ultra is an event that can be completed as a team "relay" style where 2km checkpoints are set out on course to swap to your next runner and complete the island from North to South!
Step 1 - Make a team! Teams can be any size from 2 runners up to 10 (if you want to qualify for the top prize, a maximum of 6 runners is allowed).
Step 2 - Book accommodation ASAP! If you are looking at staying the night before the event to get an early start, or don't want to rush off and enjoy to post race celebrations, look at securing some accommodation now (because it will all sell out shortly).
Step 3 - Enter your team! Entries open on The 1st of September and you can guarantee, this event will sell out fast!

Pilates PULSE
Low to moderate intensity intervals based on time goals. Pilates exercises include the use of body weight and small equipment (bands, ball and weights). Available to all abilities and bodies. Class focus is to build endurance, strength and cardiovascular fitness. Great for those wanting a sweaty cardio session.
Pilates FORM
Slower paced functional class. Exercise layers are reduced to focus on precision, form and breath. A great foundational class to receive increased support and hands on correction. Excises always commence at most regressed level with the intention to realign posture and support every day activity.
A great class for clients new to Pilates, those with existing health challenges or returning to exercise, pregnancy as well as those wanting to strengthen foundational movements.
Pilates FLOW
This class includes a mix of modern and traditional Pilates exercises with progressions offered to those seeking further challenge.
Session includes release/stretch work throughout as well as periods of increased effort to create a balanced total body session.
RMC Studio Details- Strength
Strength Focus- Eccentric
- Very slow and controlled movement (2-3 seconds)
- The exercises chosen are focusing on the lengthening out of specific muscles to promote tearing to rebuild bigger and stronger muscles.
- Technique is vital as it will increase load on the core and, if fatiguing, will lead to accessory muscle activation (use other muscles to compensate)
- 8-12 repetitions with moderate resistance.
GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS
Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.
Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.
Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.

Movement Through Parenthood Program
Run Move Connect is a community built on caring for each other, moving together and providing a safe and inclusive space for people to meet. It isn't always about movement, rather deep connections and sense of belonging that our members experience.
We are very excited, with the incredible support of the Community Bank Huon Valley and Community Against Poverty Assoc Inc to provide the following programs to our community:
Youth Engagement Mentorship Program (12-18 years old)
20 participants
6 months all inclusive participation to Run Move Connect classes
Individualised mentorship (from a member within the Huon Valley community) to provide support, navigate challenges and develop skills based on goals.
