Hello members! We hope you all enjoyed the week of training and are enjoying some well deserved rest this weekend. Not much to report on this week, timetable is same as last week so get booked into your sessions ASAP. In the July school holidays we will be offering afternoon running sessions to make it more accessible for those that can't make the early mornings. These sessions will be ran on July 12, 14, 19, 21 (Tuesday's and Thursday's). We're looking for feedback from those who are interested on a start time that's inclusive for majority (currently thinking around a 4:00pm start time). Keep in mind we need daylight and avoid any busy areas with team sport training times.
Have a great weekend, we can't wait to see you all next week for another week of training.
This weeks running session details
Run session Tuesday 21/06/22
"Timed intervals"
2 sets of -
4 min on, 90s recovery, 2 min on, 60s recovery, 60s on, 60s recovery, 30s on, 2 min rest.
Starting off with 4 min reps around a "comfortably hard" effort. Our aim is to increase effort/pace as duration drops with in our reps. 2 sets of this will take us up to 24 minutes of solid work!
Run session Thursday 16/06/22
"Tempo/Short Intervals/Tempo":
1 x 6 min, 2 min rest, 4 x 90s on/off, 1 x 6 min (26 min total)
Similar to what we have done in the past. A good opportunity to work on a couple of different paces. For the 6 minute efforts we want a nice steady tempo pace. For the 90s efforts we can afford to work a bit harder.
This weeks strength session notes
Sweat towels please everyone! We love seeing you work hard in these sessions, just have your sweat towel with you during the sessions so you can give your area a little wipe before you move onto the next exercise :)
All exercises will be explained in detail with demonstrations provided.
Aim to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to sessions starting. This will allow to time to chat with Hannah if required and to ensure we start all sessions on time.
Huonville High School "introduction to Strength training"
Week 2 of our Huonville High "Intro to strength training" saw the group learning about a range of different lifting techniques and how to do so safely.
After 2 sessions it's obvious that all participants are growing in confidence and are gaining extensive knowledge to exercise with in the community.
We can't wait to see some members from this group come and join us for our R.M.C. group sessions!
DON'T FORGET!
