Run the Bridge info post + details for our spectators and support crews!

Hello all, I thought I would put together this quick little post with everything you need to know for this year's Run The Bridge event. I know a lot of you might be keen/interested in coming to support our amazing team. If so, hopefully theres enough detail below to help you get to the finish line in time to cheer on our squad!

We have nearly reached that magical 50 participants number and would love to reach it for this years event. So, if you're keen to enter and haven't done so yet (Alex Seidel/Gabby Pettit) enter under team Run Move Connect by following THIS LINK. Remember to use the code "RMC20" to receive your 20% off discount code!

Bib collections

Race bib collection will be available from The Claire Bennett Agency at Level 2, 149 Collins Street (up the stairs next door to Liv Eat) during event week.   Bib collection times are;

  • Tuesday February 25: 10am - 5pm

  • Wednesday February 26: 10am - 5pm

  • Thursday February 27: 10am - 5pm

  • Friday February 28: 10am - 6pm

  • Saturday March 1: 10am - 4pm

I'd strongly recommend you get your bib before Sunday, as there are record entries.  Bib collection on the day is possible from the START LINE of your event, but I recommend allowing an extra 20min to do this.

You can collect bibs for other friends/family/team members, just be sure to communicate with them, so they don't also arrive to collect their bib.

Getting to the start line

All participants receive FREE access to buses on event day, as a part of your entry.

For most of us, we will be getting the event buses to the start line of the event. For the 10km event, the following buses will depart Castray Esplanade in Salamanca and take participants to Blundstone Arena: 5:30am, 5:40am, 5:50am, 6:00am, 6:10am, 6:15am, 6:20am, 6:25am

For the 5km event the following buses will depart Castray Esplanade in Salamanca and take participants to Montague Bay Primary School. Please note it is then a short walk to the start line. I'd recommend you collect your race bib at the Expo, 6:35am, 6:45am, 6:55am, 7:00am, 7:05am

From experience, I would reccomend everyone from RMC to get on the first or second buses available. The line for these can bank up pretty quickly and it's always nice to have enough time for all things prior to the race. Alternatively, you can get dropped at the start line by a family member/mate, just be sure you beat the bridge closing time at 6:35am.

Event Timetable

  • Spectran Group 10km Run - 7:10AM

  • The Athletes Foot 5k Run - 7:50AM

  • Positive Salary Packaging 5km Walk - 8:00AM

  • Presentations - 9:00AM

  • Liv Eat 1km - 9:30AM

SPECTATORS

If you're looking to cheer on the RMC team, we will meet everyone next to PW1 20-30m before the finish line. We have loved the support in previous years from family, friends and our members coming in and being part of the event. It's a fantastic atmosphere down there and we encourage you to come have a look! If you'd like to see the first finishers come in for the 10km, aim to arrive at 7:30-7:40am (be aware it might take a little longer to find a carpark in the city and to walk to PW1.

POST RACE CELEBRATIONS

(Please RSVP to Brad)

Join us for a post race brunch at The Salty Dog in Kingston. A booking has been made for arrival between 10am-10:30am. Xanthe Pastoor has sorted us out with the best seats in the house so we can enjoy a big feed, coffe (maybe a breakfast cocktail?!?!) and celebrate everyones awesome achievements.

If you would like to join us at the Salty Dog, please RSVP to me (Brad) on 0410035601 letting me know how many people are coming along.

If you have any questions on the above or anything else in regard to Run The Bridge, please send me a message anytime! Looking forward to what is most definitely one of our favourite events of the year!
