We can't thank you all enough for your support and commitment towards RMC and look forward to growing another year old with you all!

Congratulations to all of our runners who joined us for The City to Casino Funrun this morning in Hobart. Another great event full of awesome results, debuts and PB's!

Functional Seniors Strength Class

Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00am

Free induction classes on the following dates:

Thursday 29th of May at 11:00am

Thursday 5th of June at 11:00am

Functional Strength is a welcoming and supportive exercise class designed especially for adults aged 60 and over who want to maintain independence, improve strength and balance, and enjoy moving in a safe, encouraging environment.

Led by experienced instructors who understand the unique needs of older adults, this class focuses on functional movement patterns that support everyday activities. We incorporate low-impact strength training, balance exercises, joint-friendly mobility work, and simple cardio movements—all adaptable to your comfort level.

Whether you're looking to reduce the risk of falls, build confidence in your body, or simply enjoy the company of others while staying active, this class is for you. Every session ends with a social cool-down and optional time to chat—because movement is better together.

No prior experience needed. Come as you are with a drink bottle, and move at your own pace.

Strength Session Details for upcoming fortnight.

Week starting 19.05.2025

Strength Class Focus: Locomotion

For some, the simple art of walking can be difficult. This week is all about focussing on the simple things in life and grounding us back to the movement we all know well. Developing our power and strength in walking to improve running and bushwalking ability. There is an undertone of endurance with the increase in sets. The exercises chosen are also to mimic walking and enhance the movement patterns we lean towards when walking. See your stability improve with this focus area.

Week starting 26.05.2025

Strength Class Focus: Multi Movement

Multi Movement exercises using different movements to promote mobility and improve overall body awareness. It will challenge your body to adapt to different stimuli and keep it guessing, the art of reaction time. You will be challenged with stability and control due to multiple movement patterns. This multi movement focus will develop your power, so make the moveent slightly faster. Our trainers will support you with this, so please reach out.

Pilates Session Details for upcoming fortnight.

Fortnight including weeks beginning 19/05 and 16/05

'Pelvic Stability Series'

If you’ve been practicing Pilates for a while, you’ve likely heard your instructor mention “pelvic stability” more than once—and for good reason. It’s a foundational element of nearly every movement in Pilates, crucial for supporting healthy posture, efficient movement, and core strength.

Why Pelvic Stability Matters

The pelvis is the central hub connecting your upper and lower body. When it’s stable, it provides a strong foundation for controlled, fluid movement. When it’s not, the body often compensates in ways that can lead to imbalances, tightness, or even injury—especially in the lower back and hips.

Strong, stable pelvic muscles help:

    •    Improve posture and alignment

    •    Enhance balance and coordination

    •    Reduce risk of injury

    •    Increase core and glute engagement

    •    Support overall body awareness

Each class in our Pelvic Stability Series is designed to bring awareness to the muscles surrounding the pelvis—including the deep abdominals, pelvic floor, glutes, and hip stabilizers. We’ll be working through exercises that:

    •    Isolate and activate key stabilizing muscles

    •    Explore neutral pelvis positioning

    •    Use small props (like the Pilates ring, ball, or resistance bands) to challenge control and balance

    •    Integrate breath with movement to support pelvic alignment

Expect slower, more intentional movements with a strong emphasis on precision and alignment. You’ll leave feeling stronger, more balanced, and deeply connected to your core.
