Good Afternoon RMC'ers,


As we have continued to brave the weather that has been handed down to us over the past 2 weeks, we wanted to congratulate you all for continuing to move your bodies and stay motivated during what can be a challenging time to stick with our training routines. As a wise Hannah Lovell once said "it's only cold if you're standing still". Keep showing up, keep the ball rolling, keep chipping away, you're all doing an amazing job!


Our new youth engagement program applications for 2024 are now open! If you know of a young person between the age of 12-18 that would benefit from this program, point them in the direction of our Youth Engagement page on our website HERE where an EOI form is located. We can't wait for this program to be up and running and for a new crop of youths to be welcomed to our RMC community.


 

Pilates Class Cancelled

Tuesday 2nd of July

Due to instructor unavailability our 10am Pilates class will be cancelled on Tuesday 2nd of July. We wanted to give you plenty of notice to make a plan for your week.

We have 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm still available for an evening booking. Join Emily, our new Pilates instructor, for her first RMC Pilates class.

 

Run Move Connect Youth Engagement and Mentorship/

Movement Through Parenthood Program


Run Move Connect is a community built on caring for each other, moving together and providing a safe and inclusive space for people to meet. It isn't always about movement, rather deep connections and sense of belonging that our members experience.

We are very excited, with the incredible support of the Community Bank Huon Valley and Community Against Poverty Assoc Inc to provide the following programs to our community:


Youth Engagement Mentorship Program (12-18 years old)


  • 20 participants

  • 6 months all inclusive participation to Run Move Connect classes

  • Individualised mentorship (from a member within the Huon Valley community) to provide support, navigate challenges and develop skills based on goals.

  • 12 weeks of individualised exercise programming with Hannah and Paige in a small group setting, once per week

  • Complimentary Exercise Physiology initial consultation with Exercise Physiologist, Hannah

  • Individualised exercise program based on healthy history, goal setting and physical assessment with Hannah

Access to PCYC After Hours-

Our code for the PCYC front door will be sent out directly to all members who are booked in for each session. Please have your phone handy when attending sessions so you can access the building.

Social Saturday

Well done to all who turned up for our monthly time trial for Social Saturday. Great to see so many awesome results whilst still seeing those enjoying a cruzie jog, social walk and of course... Great coffee!

Thinking about attending Social Saturday?

Our Social Saturday morning are for walkers, runners, furry friends and whoever wants to kick start their weekend with movement, coffee and great company.


We begin our loop from Reba Sear at 8am every Saturday. Choose a 5km loop or simply have a nice trot around Huonville. Return back to Reba Sear for a hot drink, something to eat or head off to start your weekend.

RMC members going the extra mile....

Heading into July/August there's not much that dries up in Tassie besides road running events. As we seek for motivation and inspiration, look no further than those training along side you. A few of our RMC members have taken the plunge, aiming to complete some pretty awesome longer events to challenge themselves all for different reasons! Some major training blocks are about to kick off for these 3 and we can't wait to help support, guide and be right there along side you all during this exciting time!

Bryce Matthews - Training for Ross marathon AND Bruny Island ultra 64km SOLO!!!

Bruny Island Ultra

One of our favourite Running events in Tasmania seems a long way away but planning the logistics of the event should be starting now! The Bruny Island Ultra is an event that can be completed as a team "relay" style where 2km checkpoints are set out on course to swap to your next runner and complete the island from North to South!


Step 1 - Make a team! Teams can be any size from 2 runners up to 10 (if you want to qualify for the top prize, a maximum of 6 runners is allowed).

Step 2 - Book accommodation ASAP! If you are looking at staying the night before the event to get an early start, or don't want to rush off and enjoy to post race celebrations, look at securing some accommodation now (because it will all sell out shortly).

Step 3 - Enter your team! Entries open on The 1st of September and you can guarantee, this event will sell out fast!

RUN MOVE CONNECT PILATES CLASS STYLES (all classes are 50 mins)


Pilates PULSE

Low to moderate intensity intervals based on time goals. Pilates exercises include the use of body weight and small equipment (bands, ball and weights). Available to all abilities and bodies. Class focus is to build endurance, strength and cardiovascular fitness. Great for those wanting a sweaty cardio session.


Pilates FORM

Slower paced functional class. Exercise layers are reduced to focus on precision, form and breath. A great foundational class to receive increased support and hands on correction. Excises always commence at most regressed level with the intention to realign posture and support every day activity.

A great class for clients new to Pilates, those with existing health challenges or returning to exercise, pregnancy as well as those wanting to strengthen foundational movements.


Pilates FLOW

This class includes a mix of modern and traditional Pilates exercises with progressions offered to those seeking further challenge.

Session includes release/stretch work throughout as well as periods of increased effort to create a balanced total body session.

RMC Studio Details- Strength

NEW Focus- The Layered Effect


  • Starting with simple and basic exercises to develop body awareness, control and appropriate muscle activation on Monday.

  • Increasing exercise difficulty over the course of the week to challenge stability, strength and movement patterns. 

  • Teaching you how to use one exercise, improve your technique but advance it in a way to improve your function. 

GENERAL CLASS REMINDERS

  • Please take SWEAT TOWELS and drink bottles with you throughout the session.

  • Please advise the instructor if you have any new or old injuries that they should be aware of or will impact your training. We will support you with your exercise and provide alternative exercises.

  • Please be prompt to classes as we aim to start demonstration on time.

Exercise Physiology with Hannah

Exercise Physiologist specialise in the delivery of exercise of people with chronic health conditions, undergoing rehabilitation, pregnancy and sub-elite and elite athletes. Exercise Physiologist base their practice around prevention and management of chronic health conditions and developing rehabilitation program to improve strength, function and mobility of the body, all of which is supported by up to date, relevant and reputable researched information.

You know apart, from the benefit of participating in a session, the joy, is having one of those special moments when you see someone on the mat next to you having that feeling of " I did it" .

One of the best bits of RMC.
